Raining Cats and Dogs

While creating this image, I was obviously inspired by the phrase raining cats and dogs. I wanted to make this image as fantasy and out there as I could; hence the galaxy clouds and cats and dogs. Although the clouds above me in the photo are dark and daunting, this photo is still light and happy as I am standing in a field by the mountains with animals pouring down on me.

Snowglobe

One of my favourite places in the world is New York. When I was in high school, I was really into theatre and knew all the shows playing on Broadway. This may have been because I joined the theatre class from grades 10-11 or because I was fortunate enough to go to New York when I was 12. A moment I will never forget is when Glinda floated down in her bubble at the beginning of Wicked. Long story short, I love New York.

I decided to base this piece on the New York snowglobe one of my friends gave me. I decided to twist up the theme by adding a galactic snowglobe background but having the actual globe in the forest.

Spill the Tea!

A common phrase between my friends and me is “Spill the Tea”. When we spill the tea, it means to share information with each other and catch up. I thought it would be fun to animate a teacup where the tea is being spilled (literally spilling tea).

Instagram Photo

This photo is inspired by my dreams! I am completely stress-free and able to float away on a cloud carried by butterflies. It is sunset, and I am able to watch as the pink clouds (my favourite colour!) fill the sky behind me.

Website Banner

For my next image, I decided to create a banner for my website. I did this since it the old one was a free image I got off of the internet, but this one represents my love of florals and all the activities I have done on my website so far.

On my website, I have done tons of art (represented by the paintbrushes), I learned to play the recorder and read music (represented by the music note), I learned a lot about technology (and even built this website!), and I have learned a lot about soccer and how to run a soccer unit on my own!

I am so excited to be continuing Learning With Lara since I still have so much to learn! I am also given the chance to reflect on what I have learned and see how much I have grown in a matter of months.

Mosaic Flowers

Throughout the summer, I have seen so many Instagram posts and videos of people creating mosaic pieces for their homes. I love the look of them since they are so sunny and bright, the colours make me extremely happy and the geometric shapes in them give it a nice edge.
