Hi there! My name is Lara and I am a second-year elementary education student at the University of Victoria! I have been working and volunteering with children for almost 4 years now, and I am excited to continue this journey as I work towards becoming a teacher!
Some of my hobbies include making art projects, rhythmic gymnastics, and mentoring! However, I also have a love for relaxing on the TV and watching some sitcoms.
I have wanted to become a teacher ever since I was five years old, although the reasoning has changed. I remember thinking about how teaching was all about bossing people around and being in charge. I now have different reasons for becoming a teacher.
Throughout my life, teachers have been there to support and challenge me to become the best person I can be, without them, I would be a completely different person. I now want to be that kind of role model for students of the next generation. I also want to do my part in creating a better future for all of us. This, in particular, is going to be done by the students that have not even been born yet. I cant wait to see this happen!
